This 8 week long course is available to English and French-speaking newcomers across Canada with a CLB level of 5 or higher. Learning modules include resume and cover letter writing, job search strategies, interview techniques, and more. Designed to enhance job readiness, this free course also helps improve confidence in navigating the Canadian labour market.
Newcomer Introduction To Classes Online (NICO) is a free digital literacy course to prepare newcomers for learning English online.
English for Employment Online: Job Search is a rebranding of the Adult ESL Class Online (AECO) and is free for newcomers.
English for Employment Online: Workplace Online Retention Class is a rebranding of WORC and is free for newcomers.
Canadian Indigenous Culture - CLB 2 supplements and precedes the Indigenous Voices in the Classroom curriculum. Both series of lesson plans are intended to provide points of connection and understanding for LINC students with the Indigenous Peoples of Canada. This curriculum provides information on topics such as housing, food, clothing, celebrations, family, and health, all of which lend themselves easily to the framework of portfolio-based language assessment (LINC).
This is part 3 of the Indigenous Voices in the Classroom curriculum, with classroom activities for CLB 5/6 or equivalent.
